Issue/Introduction

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Login as "Resource A" with admin rights
  2. Administration > Studio > Objects > Team object
  3. Audit Allocation and Allocation Cost fields for Insert, Update and Delete operations
  4. Create a project and fill financial settings: Labor Transaction rates section
  5. Add a labor team member to the project, let say Staff1
  6. Run the Rate Matrix Extraction job
  7. Administration > Data Administration > Audit Trail, filter by the Team object
  8. Look at the data displayed. You see Resource A as the user who inserted Allocation and Allcoation Cost data as per actions in Step3
  9. Edit the Staff1 team member properties and change the allocation data
  10. Look at audit again. You see the changes done to the Staff1 team Allocation by Resource A on the above project
  11. Login as Resource B
  12. Run the Update Earned Value and Cost Totals job against the project in Step 3
  13. Look at audit again. You see the changes done to the Staff1 team Allocation Cost by Resource B on the above project
  14. Log in as Resource A once again and edit the profile of Resource Staff1, perform changes on his availability and/or calendar working days, shifts ... Those changes ultimately will trigger an allocation figure update
  15. Look at audit again. You do NOT see the changes done to the Staff1 team Allocation by Resource A on the above project.
  16. Login as Resource B
  17. Run the Update Earned Value and Cost Totals job against the project in Step 3
  18. Look at audit again.

Expected Results: To see changes audited performed by Resource B related to the Allocation Cost field
Actual Results: You see changes audited performed by Resource B related to the Allocation Cost field as well as the Allocation fields

Environment

Any Clarity release

Cause

The Update Earned Value and Cost Totals job indirectly updates the audit

Resolution

Changes done by Resource A to the Resource Staff1 profile or calendar, trigger a system allocation update, but the PRTEAM record has not been updated directly by Resource A. Therefore the Audit Trail might not show those updates done by Resource A

When Resource B runs the Update Earned Value and Cost Totals job, the Allocation Cost related changes get reflected and indirectly, the Allocation field change audits are also reflected.

This is by design
