Issue/Introduction

"Orphaned Users" are shown in EEM UI, select "Manage Identities", selecting "Application User Details" and press "Go".

Environment

EEM 12.x

Resolution

The internal store in EEM is used for two types of data: users/groups and policies.

When the WCC0004 application is installed, it populates this internal store with several users and groups, all prefixed with "ejm".

While EEM supports the use of an external AD for user and group authentication (where EEM verifies user existence and passwords against AD), the internal store remains active for managing all policies.
When you switch to an external AD, the internal store's existing users are not removed; they persist within the internal store.

These internal store users will then appear as "Orphaned Users" when you navigate to "Manage Identities" and select "Application User Details."
This occurs because the system checks the internal store as if it were the AD in this view. Conversely, these users will not appear under "Global Users," as that view exclusively queries the external AD.

The presence of "Orphaned Users" is a normal and expected behavior.
