Issue/Introduction

In the Financials module’s Hierarchy Workspace, selecting budget-related per-period metric columns in the grid view resulted in the creation of an excessive number of Temp Database files.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. In MUX, select a Hierarchy which has more than a 100 cost plan records in the financials tab
  2. Navigate to Financials tab and open the column picker window
  3. The number of periods are set to 12 (this can be smaller number as well)
  4. Under View Options, set per period metrics as Totals and Periods
  5. Select the below attributes from the column picker  - per period metrics
    • Budget
    • Budget to Actual Variance
    • Budget to Cost Variance
    • Budget to Forecast Variance

Expected Results: The page should loads fairly quickly like other grid pages.

Actual Results: The query supporting the grid executes in a way that generates a substantial number of database temporary files. As these temp files accumulate, the query is repeatedly written to the database logs, ultimately leading to exhaustion of the available log space.
