Issue/Introduction

When attempting to enable multi-tenancy in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager for vIDM, the operation fails with the following error message:

"Default Tenant Alias must start with an alphabet and contain only letters from a to z"

This prevents the multi-tenancy setup from proceeding until the default tenant alias meets the required naming criteria.

Environment

Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.18.x

Cause

The Default Tenant Alias must begin with an alphabet character (a–z). It cannot start with a number, special character, or any other non-alphabetic symbol.

Resolution

To resolve this validation error, ensure that the Default Tenant Alias meets the following criteria:

Begins with a letter (a–z). It may be followed by numbers or hyphens (-), but cannot start with a number.

Contains only valid alphabetic characters in the starting position.

Does not include unsupported special characters or symbols.

Update the alias according to these requirements before enabling multi-tenancy in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle.
