Issue/Introduction

Users are observing significant discrepancies within the Insights data specifically under the 'Project' section. These inconsistencies are directly impacting the accuracy and reliability of critical key metrics, potentially leading to misinformed analysis and decisions.

  • Duplicate Entries in FTE Count: The Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) count within the Insights data is inflated due to the presence of duplicate user entries. Multiple instances of the same user are being recorded, leading to an artificially high FTE total.

  • Unexpected Quality Percentile Result:  Despite a very low reported Defect Density, the corresponding Quality Percentile is only showing more percentage.

Cause

Regarding the observation of multiple FTE entries for individuals, this behavior is by design and serves a specific purpose within our Insights data

Resolution

The system is intentionally structured to display FTE at an individual Team/Project level, particularly when 'child scope' settings are active. This approach ensures an accurate and granular breakdown of resource allocation for each specific team, even if a user is contributing to multiple teams or projects simultaneously. This design prevents undercounting team-specific effort and provides a precise view of where FTE is being utilized across your organizational structure. Therefore, what may appear as "duplicate entries" is actually the system accurately reflecting an individual's FTE contribution to each team they are part of, rather than a single aggregated FTE across all teams.

  • If User objective is to view the FTE specific to a single Team/Project, without the cumulative effect of users being counted across multiple Project they belong to, User need to adjust the scope settings.

  • To achieve this, please ensure that 'child project's scope settings' are unchecked. This action will filter the data to display FTE solely for the selected Team/Project, addressing the perceived 'duplication' by showing only the relevant team's contribution. This method allows for targeted analysis of resource allocation within individual teams as intended.
