Issue/Introduction

  • In the NSX UI, an NSX manager node is completely down.
  • The appliance is not pingable from another Manager in the same cluster.
  • In the vSphere client, the web console for the appliance doesn’t load, you are getting  a black screen.
  • You are unable to SSH to the affected client.

Environment

VMware NSX

Resolution

As the appliance is completely down, we suggest to delete the problematic node and add a new appliance:

  • Access the NSX Manager user interface
  • Navigate to the System > Appliances section
  • Select the desired NSX Manager node
  • Click the Actions button and choose Delete.
  • Add a new appliance by selecting "ADD NEW APPLIANCE"
