Issue/Introduction

There is an error "Failed to process config file. It does not contain any virtual configs." while migrating config from non-default partition.

Environment

ACT : 2.6.1,2.9.1

Cause

The f5 configuration may be present in default partition as well as in non-default partitions.

This issue occurs during migration when converter checks for valid VS configuration in the default partition and as it does not find any VS config there, it raises the error.

Expected behavior is -

• if specific partition is selected during migration then converter should check only that partition for valid VS config
• if no partition is selected during migration, then converter should check all the partitions for valid VS config

To identify this issue:  Look for the line under migration tool bundle logs: /log/server.log 

Warning: No virtual servers present in config(s) ['XXX_bigip.conf', 'XXX_bigip.conf']. <Response 404>

 

Resolution

Workaround:

Create a dummy (empty) default partition to allow ACT to process successfully.

Fix:

ACT release: 2.10.1
