Issue/Introduction

During the NSX uninstall process, the transport node is removed from "System > Fabric > Hosts > Clusters", but its record may still exist in NSX Manager (for example, it still appears in API responses or shows transport zone membership).

The remaining transport node artifacts may also prevent NSX upgrades, as precheck errors will point to the removed nodes.

Environment

VMware NSX
VMware NSX-T Data Center

Cause

During uninstall, the host's compute_collection_id was deleted.
When an ESXi host doesn't have a compute_collection_id, NSX moves it out of the Clusters tab.

Resolution

  1. Go to "System > Fabric > Hosts > Other Nodes / Standalone".
  2. If you find the transport node there, select it and click "REMOVE NSX / DELETE NSX".
  3. Check "Force Delete" to complete the uninstall.

Important: Before removing it, make sure NSX components on that node are not in use.
