Error: Cluster memory leakage issue

Issue/Introduction

• There is a huge difference in the overall memory usage since the last few months
•

Environment

• VMware vSphere ESXi 8.X
• VMware vSphere ESXi 7.X

Cause

• The memory increase is caused by In‑Guest activity within the VM

Resolution

1. Engage your GuestOs vendor to troubleshoot the memory consumption.
2. Note:  It is not possible to troubleshoot VM memory consumption over several months using an ESXi log bundle.  

• The memory increase is caused by In‑Guest activity within the VM, not by ESXi itself.
• The ESXi host only allocates a small portion of physical memory to the VMkernel. 
• Broadcom cannot analyze inGuest activity as this is not seen at the VMware layer
