Issue/Introduction

In environments where NSX is deployed and managed as part of a Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) stack, the question may arise whether it is possible to upgrade NSX independently, without performing the upgrade through SDDC.

Resolution

It is recommended to upgrade NSX from SDDC while it's managed as part of a Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) stack.
But there's always an option to upgrade NSX independently if needed.
For further assistance, you can open a support case with Broadcom by selecting VMware SDDC Manager as the product through the Broadcom Support Portal
