Issue/Introduction

Customer downloaded a PTF attached to a case, received it successfully but the apply failed with multiple IEW2556W 4604 RECORD NUMBER  664 OF THE CURRENT OBJECT MODULE HAS AN INVALID OBJECT IDENTIFIER IN COLUMN 1.

Cause

PTF corrupted by the download process.

Resolution

The PTF was being downloaded with an Emulator file transfer in binary mode with carriage control enabled. The carriage control option was corrupting column 1 of the PTF.
