Issue/Introduction

  • ESXi hosts added to cluster show "Install Failed" for NSX Configuration in the NSX UI.
  • Clicking on "Install Failed" shows error:

Failed to install software on host. Solution apply failed on host: <esxi-fdqn> Failed to apply Component nsx-Icp-bundle(4.1.1.0.0-8.0.22224315): an error occurred while enabling service nsx-datapath.Solution apply failed on host: <esxi-fdqn>

  • Clicking on "Preparation Failed" shows installation progress at "vLCM remediation initiated"
  • Clicking on "vLCM remediation initiated" shows "Confirm Resolve" with the error:

VLCM remediation was skipped or failed for some hosts. List of failed host(s) [[UUID]] Please check individual transport node status for more details. You are about to reapply the Transport Node profile <nsx_cluster_profile> to cluster <host_cluster> Are you sure, you want to proceed?

  • Checking Update compliance for cluster in vCenter shows remediation message:
  • The cluster needs remediation to finish enabling these Solutions: VMware NSX 4.1.1.0.0.

Resolution

  • Please check for any incompatibilities in the vCenter Lifecycle Manager (vLCM) images.
  • If you encounter any, refer to Knowledge Base Article 320562 for instructions on how to fix them.
  • Then check resolve for the "Confirm Resolve" message and click the resolve button.
