Delay in network connectivity for NSX managed virtual machine to physical computer through L2VPN

Issue/Introduction

The virtual machine can not communicate with the physical computer over L2VPN. 

NSX managed VMs were sending ARP broadcast and no response was received for five (5) minutes which caused the delay in connectivity.  

 

 

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

Packet capture performed on NSX edge virtual network (facing physical network) showed ARP broadcast towards physical network with no response.

The unavailability of ARP response was causing the delay in network connection. 

 

Resolution

The network connectivity started working as soon as ARP response was received after five(5) minutes.

The delay in ARP response was due to an issue within physical networks.
