Environment

Usage Meter 4.8

vSphere 7.0

vSphere 8.0

Cause

This issue happens when the user account of the metered vCenter can't have the required permissions correctly.

One of the scenarios to fails to get the license key information:

   1. Create a new role for Usage Meter metering with the required permissions and assign the role to a user group.

   2. Create a user account with a role of built-in Read-only role and add the user to the user group.

In this case, Read-only role overrides the assigned one of the parent user group, then failed to assign the necessary permissions for Usage Meter metering to the user account.

Resolution

1. Review the user account and the user group if there are the different roles are assigned.

2. Login to vSphere Client with the account for vCenter metering and confirm the license key information can be referred at License page.
