Failed verifying removal of any persistent reservation on physical disk

Issue/Introduction

Symptom:

• While performing validation check from "Failover Cluster Manager" wizard on Windows Server 2022, we got an error "Failed while verifying removal of any Persistent Reservation on physical disk (8b7436f4-####-####-####-5f7b4aaba8a8) at node VM01.#.local.".
  
  Steps: In Failover Cluster Manager > Under Actions, select Validation Configuration.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi

Cause

• Clustered VMDK support is not enabled on the VMFS 6 datastore.
  
  
  

Resolution

• Enable Clustered VMDK support on the VMFS 6 datastore, where the shared vmdk is stored.
