Issue/Introduction

Looking into the TAP upgrade guide the recommended order to upgrade clusters are as follows:

  1. View cluster
  2. Build clusters
  3. Run clusters

so at some point it is expected that clusters will run into mixed versions of TAP which is expected.
This KB discuss on support scope of TAP running on mixed versions.

Resolution

Running a mixed version of TAP is a transient state that occurs only during a platform upgrade when in maintenance mode. While this upgrade is underway, you should anticipate slower workload processing. Additionally, within a View cluster, the Tanzu Developer Portal may display a gray or missing status on the Supply Chain page, and you might encounter other issues viewing various pages. We have documented known issues that detail what to expect during this upgrade process. It's important to note that if a you choose to run TAP in a mixed mode outside of this transient upgrade period, that is not a supported long term configuration.

It is recommended that you run TAP view, build and run clusters on same versions of TAP.
