Error 7061 When Adding New Compute Manager in NSX

Issue/Introduction

• Unable to add a new Compute Manager in NSX.
• Error message displayed: “Cannot register compute manager server #####.com, credentials are Incorrect or Invalid compute manager: (Error code: 7061)

Environment

• VMware NSX-T Data Center
• VMware NSX
• VMware vCenter Server

Cause

Incorrect vCenter credentials were provided during the Compute Manager registration process.

Resolution

1. Verify that the vCenter credentials used for Compute Manager registration are correct.
2.  Update the Compute Manager configuration in NSX with the correct vCenter credentials.
3.  Retry adding the Compute Manager.
4. If the issue persists even after providing correct credentials, see this NSX Compute Manager 'Connection Status' Down.
