Issue/Introduction

• After upgrading VCF Operations Fleet Management Appliance to 9.0.1, in the VCF Operations UI, the Fleet Management  >> Lifecyle section displays:
  VCF Operations Fleet Management is not Ready 
  
  
  
  
• Running  journalctl -xeu vpostgres.service on the Fleet management appliance using root credentials, displays:

Oct 20 09:28:49 <hostname> postgres[11273]: 2025-10-20 09:28:49.404 UTC [11273] FATAL:  data directory "/var/vmware/vpostgres/current/pgdata" has invalid permissions
Oct 20 09:28:49 <hostname> postgres[11273]: 2025-10-20 09:28:49.404 UTC [11273] DETAIL:  Permissions should be u=rwx (0700) or u=rwx,g=rx (0750).

 

Environment

VCF Operations 9.0.1

Resolution

1. Snapshots are required of the VCF Operations Fleet Management appliance as per KB  Managing snapshots in vSphere Web Client
   
   
2. Once snapshots are in place, apply the steps from PostgreSQL Service fails to start after rebooting Fleet Management appliance post VCF Operations 9.0.1 upgrade
