Issue/Introduction

The IP address range in the SDDC Manager network pool is fully utilized, and no additional IPs are available for allocation.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation  5.x
VMware Cloud Foundation  9.x

Cause

All IP addresses in the network pool are currently in use. As a result, no free IP addresses are available to assign to the new host being added to the network pool.

Resolution

Add or Remove a Network Pool IP Address Range

You can modify an existing network pool to add a new IP address range.

Steps:

  1. In the navigation pane, go to Administration → Network Settings.

  2. Locate the network pool you want to modify.

  3. Click the vertical ellipsis (three dots) next to the desired network pool and select Edit Network Pool IP Range.

  4. From the Edit Network Pool IP Range menu:

    • To add a new range:

      • Enter the Start IP address and End IP address in the respective fields.

      • Click Add to include the new range.

  5. Review your changes and save the updated configuration.

Additional Information

If we notice stale entries in the Network Pool, we can determine their presence based on the associated Host and IP range. Once confirmed, we should follow the steps outlined in the below Broadcom Knowledge Base article to clean up these stale entries:
