Issue/Introduction

  • The Aria Operations for Logs integration for Aria Operations has been configured and is working.
  • The Operations > Log Analysis page works when logged in as a local user, a vIDM user, or an AD authenticated user
  • When logged in as a vCenter user (by selecting a specific vCenter or the All vCenter Servers option in the drop-down menu when logging in) the Operations > Log Analysis page presents a button that says Get Started with Operations for Logs.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Aria Operations for Logs 8.18.x

Cause

Users authenticated by vCenter have limited access in Aria Operations and are only able to see objects related to the vCenter that authenticated them. This does not include the logs collected for the Log Analysis feature.

Resolution

Log in as an Aria Operations local user, vIDM user, or AD user to use the Log Analysis functionality.
