"You are in emergency mode" message appears on platform node, ubuntu fails to boot in VCF Operations for Networks appliance

VCF Operations for Networks

Issue/Introduction

When a VCF Operations for Networks appliance based on Ubuntu fails to boot, the user may see the message:

You are in emergency mode. After logging in, type "journalctl -xb" to view system logs, "systemctl reboot" to reboot, "systemctl default" or "exit" to boot into default mode. Give root password for maintenance.

2. Issue is seen after additional disc were added to the node to increase brick size from vCenter.

Aria Operations for Networks 6.13.0
Aria Operations for Networks 6.14.0
Aria Operations for Networks 6.14.1

 

Cause

This issue is usually due to files being marked as corrupt or inaccessible.
This issue can also occur during auto expansion of LVM disks and the fail to  mounted the file system due to LVM going   corrupt or inaccessible.
