vCenter gets disconnected with error "Your vsphere client session is no longer authenticated. Please login again."

Issue/Introduction

• vCenter UI session gets terminated immediately after login, with below error:
  
  Connection Timeout
Your vSphere Client session is no longer authenticated. Please login again.

• SSH session to the vCenter server will also get disconnected immediately after login.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

This could be caused due to IP conflict for the vCenter server IP.


To verify the vCenter IP conflict:

• Power-off the vCenter server.
• Ping the vCenter IP address using below command to identify the other device with same IP.
  ping -a <vCenter-IP> 

Resolution

• Power-off the other device to avoid IP conflict.

• Change the IP address for the vCenter server or the other device to avoid IP conflict.
