• Aria Operations upgrade stuck while upgrading to version 8.17
• Cluster is HA enabled

Environment

VMware Aria Operations

Cause

Incorrect roles configured for the replica node.

Resolution

1. Log in to the Aria Operations Primary Replica node as root via SSH or vSphere console
2. Determine the repl.db.role
   

   grep repl.db.role /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/user/conf/persistence/persistence.properties

3. If the result is not repl.db.role=REPLICA, open a support case with Broadcom Support and reference this KB number
