How to Upgrade VMware tools version on ESXi Host with non-shared datastore

Issue/Introduction

Upgrading VMware tools version on the ESXi host which has local datastores

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.x

Resolution

Check the VMware Tools version before and after the upgrade with in the ESXi host using the following command:

esxcli software vib list| grep -i tool

Please follow the steps mention in the kb to update the vmware tools version manually on the ESXI Host: How to update the VMware Tools version in the ESXi host(322293)

Additional Information

Note that it is not necessary to put the ESXi host in maintenance mode or reboot it to update the VMware Tools version.
