Error "You do not have permissions to add to this catalog." when trying to upload media files to Catalog in VMware Cloud Director

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to upload media files to a shared catalog, the following error message appears: "You do not have permissions to add to this catalog"

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.X

Cause

If a catalog is shared as “Read-only” with other tenants, those users will not have permission to add any files to the catalog.

Resolution

Login to the Tenant where the catalog is shared from, select the catalog -> Share -> Change permissions from Read Only to Read/Write or Full Control

Once the catalog is shared with the required permissions, users from other tenants will be able to add the files into the catalog.
