German umlauts special characters not displayed properly in v24

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to version 24, some special characters such as the Germam umlauts cannot be displayed properly in AWI, instead some strange characters are displayed.

Depending on which menu we are, sometimes they can be displayed correctly and sometimes not.
