Tibco EMS Support for Gateway 11.1.2

Issue/Introduction

We are planning to update to 11.1.2 (currently on 11.1.1) for our TIBCO EMS 8.7 implementation, and the release notes indicate that Tibco EMS will be deprecated. However, we are still using this with our API Gateway. The generic JMS doesn't support TLS, which is a requirement for us. Are we still able to use Tibco EMS with 11.1.2?

Cause

According to Tibco's KB:

Support Policy for TIBCO Enterprise Message Service™ 8.6.0 release

TIBCO hereby announces that it will end support for the following product version(s), as of 11:59 pm Pacific Time December 31, 2024:

TIBCO Enterprise Message Service™ 8.6.0 release

As a result, Broadcom will not be able to support a partner's EOS product either. Also, according to our product doc:

Requirements and Compatibility

In the "Message Queuing Products", it states that the supported TIBCO EMS versions include 8.3 and 8.6.

Resolution

As a general statement, "supported version" means that Broadcom included the official testing task during the product development/releasing cycle. This means that other than the versions 8.3 and 8.6, no other Tibco EMS has been considered for official support. This means that customers can continue to use this "TIBCO EMS" Provider Type but at their own risk.

Based on Support's testing, we saw that this feature continues to be available in the Policy Manager 11.1.2. The customer is advised to conduct their own testing to ensure a satisfactory result.

If customers feel the need, please go to Broadcom Community website to raise an ideation. Broadcom Product Management will consider whether to include its support the requested functionality in the future.
