Issue/Introduction

  • The error below is received while trying to install vIDM in Aria Lifecycle
    • LCMVSPHERECONFIG1000016
  • In the associated vCenter, we see a failed 'Deploy OVF template' task, with the error 'A specified parameter was not a correct pool'.
  • The error below may be visible in the 'vmware-vrlcm.log' logs, found at '/var/log/vrlcm'
    • ERROR vrlcm[1314] [pool-3-thread-49] [c.v.v.l.d.v.d.i.BaseOvfDeploy] -- Lease error , Message: A specified parameter was not correct: pool

Environment

Aria Lifecycle 8.18

VMware Identity Manager 3.3.7

Cause

When deploying a new product in LCM, in the infrastructure section of the setup, there is the option to select a resource pool. If not selected, a default resource pool is returned.

If you are adding a product while creating a new environment, this is step 6.

If you are adding a product to an existing environment, it is step 5.

Resolution

During the 'Infrastructure' step of product deployment, ensure that you select an existing resource pool. See the screenshot below for reference.
