HTTP/HTTPS Connection Closes Prematurely When Using DataScript on a Virtual Service

Issue/Introduction

Virtual Service (VS) configured with an HTTP or HTTPS policy using DataScript may intermittently close the connection before the full response is delivered to the client. This issue is observed when the response payload is large (exceeding approximately 17 KB).

Environment

VMware Avi Load Balancer

Affected Versions: 22.1.7, 30.2.3, 30.2.4, 30.2.5, 31.1.1

Cause

DataScript closes the connection prematurely before sending the full response when the payload is large (over ~17 KB).

Resolution

Fixed in versions 30.2.5 2p1 and 31.2.1.

Workaround

1. When the script is used appropriately, it works fine.
2. The issue can also be avoided by sending the response via HTTP Policy instead of Data script.
