Issue/Introduction

XCOM™ Data Transport® and XCOM™ Data Transport® Gateway are different products. Some installations may have XCOM connecting to an XCOM Gateway which is achieved using the file %XCOM_HOME%\lib\GatewayBridge.jar.

This article covers how to check if an XCOM installation connects to a XCOM Gateway.

Environment

XCOM™ Data Transport® for Windows

XCOM™ Data Transport® for UNIX/Linux

Resolution

Check the xcom.glb file, which is found in %XCOM_HOME%\config, to see if the following parameters have values.

  • GATEWAY_IP
  • GATEWAY_PORT

If there are no values, then a XCOM Gateway is not being used.

Additional Information

Some of the scanning tools that scan the file system may report vulnerabilities in the file %XCOM_HOME%\lib\GatewayBridge.jar, though they are not exploitable:

  • If the Gateway is not being used then the file and any other copies of it under %XCOM_HOME% can be safely removed.
  • If the Gateway is being used, open a new XCOM Support case to seek further advice.
