Question:
When registering a server to an Enterprise Team Center (ETC) server, what URLs do I specify?
*Please note that Enterprise Team Center is an optional centralized version of Team Center available in APM 10.2 and later.
This is different than the standard Team Center available since APM 10.0. For more information please see the documentation on ETC.
Environment:
APM 10.2 and later, with the optional Enterprise Team Center component installed.
Answer:
For the top field, specify the Master ETC EM server name, along with the web port. By default this should be 8081. Enter in the URL as:
This is the server that the EMs will be sending data _to_.
The second field is for the webview port on the same server. By default this is set to 8082.
The webview field is the url and port number for the webview of the provider - generally this is installed on the Provider EM, and the port is also 8082.
The provider is the name of the EM you are registering to Enterprise Team Center, and will be sending data to the Master Enterprise Team center server. The port specified is the EM's web port, by default 8081.
Additional Information:
Failure to specify the proper URL can result in the following error in the Registration UI:
Configuration test failed. Security token is invalid.
If you are not sure about what your web port is, check the file <EM_HOME>\config\IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties. The field introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port is the port that should be used in registration
See the screenshot below for a properly configured Registration, when test.ca.com is the Master in the Enterprise Team Center, and test2.ca.com is the EM that will be Provider.
