When attemptign to upgrade AAI, the upgrade.log has the error Can't connect to X11 window server

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to upgrade AAI, the error below is seen near the end of the upgrade.log

 [java] Exception in thread "main" java.awt.AWTError: Can't connect to X11 window server using 'x.x.x.x:0.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.

Environment

AAI
Linux

Cause

The upgrade.sh script is trying to launch a X11 window for an interactive upgrade

Resolution

There are two options to resovle this:

1. Work with your Linux admistrator to enable X11 forwarding in order to launch the graphical upgrade

 

2. Use the headless upgrade as documented here.

Make sure to allows follow the latest documented upgrade steps for the version you are upgrading to.
