GPCC Resource Group Monitor shows no data

Issue/Introduction

In GPCC, the Resource Group Monitor page displays blank graphs for all resource groups, even though metrics are successfully collected and stored in the gpmetrics.gpcc_resgroup_history table.

The issue persists after verifying:

• The gpmetrics.gpcc_resgroup_history table contains fresh data.

• MetricsCollector service is active and functioning.

 

Environment

GPCC 6.14.0

Cause

The issue occurs when a resource group name begins with a numeric character (for example, 3db_rg). Such names cause the Resource Group Monitor API to fail in parsing JSON responses, resulting in empty charts being displayed in the GPCC web interface.

This is a known issue in GPCC 6.14.0 and earlier.

Resolution

Workaround

Rename or recreate the affected resource group(s) to ensure the name does not begin with a number.

Example:

-- Rename resource group to remove leading digit

ALTER RESOURCE GROUP "3db_rg" RENAME TO "db3_rg;

After making the change, refresh the GPCC Resource Group Monitor page. The graphs should now display correctly.

Fix

Upgrade GPCC to version 6.15.0 or later, where resource group name parsing has been corrected in the UI backend.
