"There are expired or expiring licenses in your inventory" warning message in vCenter UI in an environment with VSAN Cluster

Issue/Introduction

• There are no Licenses in expiring or expired state in the vCenter UI License Management Page.
• vSAN is licensed under VVF with an evaluation license which is set to expire in 50 years.
• In the vCenter /var/log/vmware/cis-license/licence.log it is reported that there is a license in 'vSAN Evaluation Mode' which is set to expire in 50 years:

Environment

• vCenter Server 8.0 Update 3g and lower.

Cause

• This is a known cosmetic issue with no functional impact to the vCenter. With VVF deployments VSAN is licensed with a valid evaluation license with 50 years validity.
• There is an issue were that evaluation license is interpreted to be an expired license.

Resolution

• VMware is working to fix this issue and the resolution will be available in the upcoming release.
