VCF Operations/Automation (formerly VMware Aria Suite)

Issue/Introduction

  • Need to adjust our information in Aria Operations because the panel presents duplication on information
  • There is only one DC with half the number of clusters, hosts, and VMs that are seen in the Home > Overview page

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

There are 2 vCenter adapters connected to the same vCenter listed in the Management > Integrations page underneath the VCF Adapter instance. The Home > Overview page shows a summation of the objects from each vCenter adapter in the environment.

Resolution

It is required to take snapshots of the Aria Operations cluster prior to initiating the steps below

Remove extra vCenter adapter from Aria Operations

  1. Log in to the Aria Operations product UI and navigate to Management > Integrations
  2. Expand the VMware Cloud Foundation grouping
  3. Expand the VCF instance where the data duplication exists
  4. Expand the VCF Domain where the data duplication exists
  5. Click the vertical three dot button next to the vCenter adapter that is not named VCF_[DOMAIN Name]-DOMAIN and selecte Delete
  6. Verify that the Delete related objects checkbox remains unchecked in the Delete Account dialog and click DELETE
  7. Verify that the vCenter account is removed after 5 to 10 minutes

    Note:
It may be required to use the Refresh button in the top right corner of the screen to correctly reflect the removal of the adapter.
  8. Verify that the data in the Home > Overview page is correct

    Note:
It may take one to two collection cycles (5 to 10 minutes) for the data to be updated correctly.
