Error "The attached ISO file is not valid. Attach a valid ISO file and try again." triggered while vCenter Server appliance(VCSA) is trying to access the valid ISO

Issue/Introduction

Upon attaching the valid ISO to perform the vCenter Server upgrade, vCenter detects the ISO as invalid and throws the alert "The attached ISO file is not valid. Attach a valid ISO file and try again."

Environment

VMware vCenter 8.x

Cause

This alert will be thrown, if the environment is already running on the same version & build number.

Resolution

• Validate, if your current version & build is different from the version/build you are trying to upgrade.
• If issue still persists post validating the above condition, raise a case with Broadcom Support
