Issue/Introduction

After a rolling reboot of all three NSX Managers, or after a reboot of one NSX Manager, the repo_sync service on it shows operational status "FAILED". There is a RESOLVE button available to click next to it's status.

The following logline is observed in the affected NSX Manager's logs:
2025-09-30T03:17:55.785Z  INFO http-nio-127.0.0.1-7440-exec-18 RepoSyncServiceImpl 4840 SYSTEM [nsx@6876 comp="nsx-manager" level="INFO" reqId="######-####-####-####-############" subcomp="manager" username="uproton"] Starting Repository sync process, current result is RepoSyncResult [nodeId=########-####-####-####-########, status=FAILED, statusMessage=, failureMessage=Repository synchronization operation was interrupted. Please click on resolve to retry., errorCode=21057, percentage=0.0]

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

This occurs if the repository sync (repo_sync) was in progress previously and was interrupted by the reboot.

This issue is also seen if the repository sync process was interrupted by a network connectivity problem between itself and another NSX Manager.

Resolution

Simply click on the word "RESOLVE" in the UI and the repository sync will show updated status of "In progress" as seen in the screenshot below, and subsequently complete successfully:
