ESXi 8.x Hardware Health warning "System Management Software 1 XCC DB Status"

Issue/Introduction

Navigate to the Host Monitor Tab and Select Hardware Health. Under Sensors we see the following sensor showing a warning status.

 

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x

Cause

The XCC may perform an internal database recovery process after an AC cycle or XCC restart. This is working as designed, but the log entry may be picked up by the vCenter server and appear to be a problem requiring attention.

Resolution

This warning is related to Lenovo ThinkSystem servers and the XCC Management Controller. Customers seeing this issue should contact Lenovo.
