Issue/Introduction

Alerts are observed for objects removed from vCenter.
Aria Operations doesn't have current object statuses (ESXIs, VMs).

Below error observed in Adapter Logs at: \logs\adapters\VMwareAdapter\VMwareAdapter_XX.log

####### WARN  [QueryHostProperties Thread] (62) com.integrien.adapter.vmware.QueryHostProperties.doRunNotFreq - The call to queryLockdownExceptions was unsuccessful because of insufficient permissions. This issue is likely caused by the lack of permissions granted to the vCenter user for the collection. Failed hosts are: {esxi01_hostname,esxi02_hostname,esxi03_hostname,esxi04_hostname}

Environment

Aria Operations 8.X

Cause

The vCenter adapter is integrated with a user account that has insufficient permissions.

Resolution

  • Ensure the account used for vCenter adapter instance integration has the necessary privileges as per: Privileges Required for Configuring a vCenter Adapter Instance

  • Stop and start the collection of vCenter adapter

  • Search for removed ESXi Hosts in Aria Operations>>Select them and click the "X" to remove from aria operations
