Issue/Introduction

  • After changing the license assignment for the vSAN cluster, an alarm ‘vSAN file service alarm 'Infrastructure Health’' was notified.

 

  • In vCenter Server /var/log/vmware/vsan-health/vmware-vsan-health-summary-result.log the following is observed:

Environment

VMware vSAN

Cause

The vSAN File Service is not available with vSAN Advanced or Standard licenses. Enterprise or vSAN Enterprise Plus license is required.

Resolution

Assign a valid vSAN Enterprise or Enterprise Plus license to the vSAN cluster asset.
