Downloads and License upgrade from 8.x to 9.x

Issue/Introduction

• While attempting to upgrade licenses from 8.x to 9.x for vSphere vCenter, ESXi, and VSAN, but encountered the following "No data available to upgrade" error:
• The downloads for ESXi and VSAN 9.x are visible, but the download for vCenter 9.0.1 cannot be located
• There is a valid VMware vSphere Foundation 8 for VDI that is desired to be upgraded to 9.x, and this also is desired to be upgraded for VVF for Desktops from 8.x to 9.x.

• VMware vSphere 8.x to 9.x
• VMware vCenter Server 8.x
• vSphere ESXi 8.x
• vSAN 8.x
• VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF)

Cause

It's currently not supported to upgrade VMware vSphere Foundation 8 for VDI to 9.x.
