Unable to License vCenter and ESX on VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

You have a license for VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF).  You have registered the VCF Operations instance on the Business Service Console (BSC).  However, when you try to assign the license to the vCenter in VCF Operations, the license cannot be assigned with the following error:

The license cannot be assigned to vCenter systems that are part of a VMware Cloud Foundation instance.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.x

Cause

VVF license cannot be assigned to a VCF deployment and can only be assigned to a VVF deployment.

Resolution

Redeploy with VVF deployment using the VCF Installer by following the instructions from reference: Start a New vSphere Foundation Deployment by Using the VCF Installer Deployment Wizard
