Issue/Introduction

Introduction:

According to the manual when Harvest is checking out a file to Unix it should set the file permission as stored in Harvest – only write bit should be removed. It seems Harvest is doing so for the file owner but "group" and "other" are completely removed.

Some examples:

Stored in Harvest/after deploy

       Rwxrwxrwx/r-x------

       Rw-rw-rw-/r--------

Question:

Do you know a way to have the agent process run with umask 002 ?

Environment:

Multiuser-agents under Root on AIX.

Answer:

1. On the root terminal run the command :

(umask 002 && cmd)         – here cmd refers “shell name like sh/ksh/bash”)

2. Then start Harvest agent, after that agent runs with the specified umask.
