Issue/Introduction

  • Entries similar to the below are observed in /var/log/messaging-manager/messaging-manager.log:
    WARN EventReportProcessor-1-4 EventReportSyslogSender - MONITORING [nsx@6876 comp="nsx-manager" entId="########-####-####-####-############" eventFeatureName="communication" eventSev="warning" eventState="On" eventType="network_latency_high" level="WARNING" subcomp="messaging"] The average network latency between manager nodes and host <host-FQDN> <host-IP> is more than  150 ms for 5 minutes.
  • Testing of the physical between the NSX Managers and the ESXi Transport Nodes shows no signs of obvious issues
  • Logging is enabled on the default L2 Ethernet rule:
rule 1 at 1 inout ethertype any stateless from any to any accept with log

Note: The preceding log excerpts are only examples. Date, time, and environmental variables may vary depending on your environment.

Environment

VMware NSX 4.x
