Issue/Introduction

• BFD configuration on HA VIP of T0 Gateway in NSX for BGP and Static Routes

• Attempting to add HA VIP IP to Static Route BFD Peer fails to save with Error: Source address <ip-address> in BFD peer /infra/tier-0s/<tier-0-name>/static-routes/bfd-peers/<BFD-peer-name> does not match any interface on tier 0 /infra/tier-0s/<tier-0-name>. (Error code 503197)

Cause

• Unsupported configuration.

• NSX does not support BFD configuration on HA VIP objects as they are not selectable as a source address for being a BFD endpoint.

Resolution

BFD cannot be configured using HA VIP on NSX, but is rather configured using the T0 uplink interfaces as source.
