Migrate option is not available under Lifecycle Management on Local NSX site in NSX Federation environment.

Issue/Introduction

• This is an NSX Federation environment where the Global site is managing multiple local sites.
• The migrate option is not visible on the local NSX manager node UI.
• Even after enabling the "migration-coordinator" service  for NSX V2T migration on the local managers, the option is still not visible under Lifecycle Management.

• However, the migrate option will be available on the Global manager UI managing these sites.

Cause

This has been identified as an expected behavior where the "Migrate" option gets disabled for NSX local manager nodes.

Initially, a standalone NSX-T Manager, (i.e., not yet federated), provides access to this option. However, once an NSX-T Manager is successfully integrated as a Local Manager within an NSX Federation, the 'Migrate' option is no longer visible or available in its UI.

The "Migrate" option will be available on the Global manager nodes as it will be responsible for global policies and configuration across federated NSX-T sites.

Resolution

This is an expected behavior. All NSX V to T migration activity will be performed through the Global managers.
