Validate connection for VCF adapter throws code 500 error in aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

When validating a connection, the following error is observed:

“API returned with unexpected status code 500”

This occurs when using a service account user.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

The service account user does not have administrative permissions required to perform the operation.

Resolution

You can either use a user account with administrative privileges or assign administrative privileges to the service account by following the steps below:

• Navigate to Administration → Control Panel.
• Go to Access Control.
• Assign the Administrator role to the service account user.
• Click Save.
• Validate the connection again for the adapter instance.
