How to change SMTP configuration for vCenter and ESXi hosts

Issue/Introduction

Need to know how to change the SMTP configuration for vCenter and ESXi hosts.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.0

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0

Resolution

• In vSphere Client, SMTP configuration could be changed from :
  
  Select vCenter in 'Hosts & Clusters' view ---> Configure --> Settings ---> General --> Mail
  
  
• The configuration change performed for SMTP at vCenter level is taken up by objects managed by vCenter i.e. Clusters and Hosts in vCenter inventory.

• This help trigger sending of emails for ESXi hosts after mail configuration setup under corresponding Alarm Definitions.
