Post upgrade SRM service re-configure task fails.

Issue/Introduction

The SRM upgrade from 8.5 to 8.8 fails.

We see below error during SRM service re-configuration.

UI Error: A general system error occurred: N7Vmacore24InvalidArgumentExceptionE service.

Environment

VMware Live Recovery 8.X

Cause

SRM cannot be directly upgraded from version 8.5 to 8.8 as per the compatibility matrix. Due to this unsupported upgrade path, the SRM database schema did not upgrade to 8.8 and remained at version 8.5

Resolution

Please revert the upgrade to SRM 8.5 and then follow the supported upgrade path as per the compatibility matrix to complete the upgrade successfully.
