VM randomly lost connectivity

Issue/Introduction

• VM is unable to connect to the network
• VMware Tools is not installed in the VM
• Unable to install tools in VM as the Mouse is not present in the vCenter Web Console

Environment

vSphere 8.x

Resolution

• Use the VMRC Console as an alternative to the vCenter web console.
  
  • Select the VM in vCenter Inventory
  • In the Summary Tab click "Launch Remote Console" instead of "Launch Web Console"
  • Note: This requires an additional desktop component install or VMware Workstation integrations (follow onscreen prompts) 
• Reinstall VMware Tools.
• Configure networking on the VM's Ethernet interface.
